I am a percussionist, dancer, and singer who primarily plays Latin music and Jazz. I am experienced with Afro-Cuban percussion such as Congas, Bongos, and Timbales. I have performed with ensembles at Berklee and MIT, as well as at events for Harvard.

My current musical project, Los Mambiseros, is a traditional Cuban music and fusion band that focuses on genres such as Son, Rumba, Changüí, Bolero, Timba, and Flamenco.

“Mambiseros” is a playful spelling of “mambíses,” the revolutionary guerrilla fighters from the Cuban Wars of Independence at the end of the 19th century. The mambíses were a grassroots, freedom-fighting force represented and led by Caribbeans of diverse racial and social backgrounds. The project goes across time and aligns itself with the decolonial, unifying, and rebellious spirit of being mambí.
